Special Events Information for 2018 Friday, 7th December Mars / Neptune conjunction Mars and Neptune will share the same right ascension, with Mars passing   0°02' to the north of Neptune. From Benalla, the pair will become visible at around 9:00 pm as the dusk sky fades, 52° above your north-western horizon. They will then sink towards the horizon, with Mars at mag 0.1, and Neptune at mag 7.9, both in the constellation Aquarius. The pair will be close enough to fit within the field of view of a telescope, but will also be visible through a pair of binoculars. Tuesday, 11th December Christmas Breakup Dinner + Viewing Night Meeting at the Gliding Club Restaurant at 7:00 pm $18 meals + tea & coffee Afterward, clear horizons to the east, with good viewing of the Summer constellations.
